**Chapter 3: A New Resolve**
Sunlight filters through the hospital blinds, casting a soft glow over the room. She stares at the ceiling, struggling to accept the impossible—she is truly back.
Her hand moves to her stomach, feeling the life growing within her. The baby. The only thing that matters now. She won't let history repeat itself.
A knock on the door pulls her from her thoughts. The nurse enters, offering a kind smile. "How are you feeling?"
"Better," she answers, her voice steadier.
"Good. You need to avoid stress for the baby’s sake."
She nods, but her mind races. When she asks the date, the answer makes her breath catch—it’s one month before everything fell apart.
This is her chance.
As the day passes, she forces herself to eat despite the nausea curling in her stomach. Every bite feels heavy, but she knows she has to be strong for the child growing inside her. She moves carefully, each small action a reminder that this time, things must be different.
The quiet of the hospital room feels suffocating. Memories of her past life swirl in her mind, each one a painful reminder of how her choices had led to her downfall. The jealousy, the bitterness, the obsession with a love that was never meant for her—it had all consumed her. But now, she has a chance to rewrite everything.
Lying back against the pillows, she stares at the ceiling once more. Her body feels weaker than she remembers, but her resolve has never been stronger. She will take this second chance and do what she failed to do before—protect her child, change her fate, and walk a different path.
No matter what it takes.
